How Sequential Laying Works

Sequential laying is a more advanced matched betting technique so don’t worry if you don’t get it as a beginner.

What is sequential laying?

Sequential laying is when we lay each outcome of a multiple after the last has finished. Instead of laying all outcomes at once, we wait for each leg to complete before placing the lay bet for the next leg.

When do we use sequential laying?

We use sequential laying when laying against multiples. Each leg of the multiple must start after the last one has finished so we can lay against each leg individually. Sequential laying can often yield more profit than laying all of the outcomes all at once, as it allows us to take advantage of changing odds and only lay what’s necessary.

Strategy Differences:

Standard: Maximizes profit if all legs win, but creates larger loss if final leg loses. Each lay stake is calculated to break even if that specific leg loses.

Lock in Profit: Equalizes profit whether final leg wins or loses, reducing variance. The final leg stake is set to guarantee the same profit regardless of the outcome.

Important: Ensure your lay bets are on non-overlapping events (different match kick-off times, different days etc). This prevents your lay bets from interfering with each other.
